TOXIC COCKTAIL:
DNC vs. BLM

BLM protesters have been a disruption to Hilary and the DNC since events like this one in February in South Carolina. From Salon.com.
It’s time for them to answer the questions. Each one as a group. We have on the one hand the Democratic Party which cannot decide whether it is a “progressive” or Keynesian (business-friendly liberal) party. In the other there is Black Lives Matter and similar groups, which cannot decide whether it is still just a protest movement, a militant organization, or a political party nor can it seem to articulate a set of goals that doesn’t alienate broader society. Whereas the Democratic talking heads had hoped that months of sympathetic PR from their core leaders would cause a convergence between the Party and the Movement, it now looks like they may be on a collision course with scary results for both. The Democrats think that they have it easy because Bernie Sanders has rendered himself over to them and therefore his supporters go with him. As I've explained elsewhere, the difference between Sanders and other former Republican candidates such as Chris Christie or Jeb Bush, is that he did not lead a caucus or a faction but a bona fide movement, one that he can no longer control as it marches off without him.

A poisoned bond

BLM has elicited guilt from some white people, but they may be reconsidering now that both the movement and the Democrats have soured on each other.  Erikhare.com
What they finally discovered after the Convention was that these two entities, the Democratic Party and BLM, are not just at odds, they have a toxic effect on one another.
For months while BLM activists have been disrupting civil life throughout the USA, the Democratic Party through President Obama, state governors, and both of its main candidates has been at pains to placate the passions of these protesters. Yet that fool’s errand and the relationship between BLM and the black political leadership mirrors the same internal conflict that developed between the Hillary Clinton camp and the grassroots activists that supported Bernie Sanders. Unfortunately, in both of those battles the establishment side has made a gross miscalculation.

What is so bizarre is that it took until just last week for moderate Democrats and liberals to realize that BLM is not a new incubation greenhouse for party line zombies. And on the other side the activists that have been blocking intersections and seizing study halls are realizing that they've been taken for a ride, whether they supported Bernie Sanders or Clinton or nobody. The DNC leaks scandal did not just reveal that the Democratic Party had screwed Sanders, but that its highest echelons of leadership are completely removed from knowing the priorities of grassroots activists.
More alphabet soup: The BDS connection to BLM vs. DNC
It was inevitable that even mainstream liberals would realize that BLM is deeply linked to other radical and racialist causes. The only question was whether they would acknowledge this in public. From Socialistworker.org.
A further source of embarrassment that came out both before, during, and after the Convention, is the connection between the radical black left and other causes that are outside the mainstream of both the Democratic Party and most politicians. One of these was the Palestinian activism movement, which was championed by followers of Bernie Sanders and his surrogates at the DNC platform discussion meetings Cornel West, James Zogby, and Keith Ellison. At the Convention the Bernie delegates made this very clear by flashing their flags at any chance they got.

Democratic convention. Algemeiner

To be clear, the mainstream (Hillary) Democrats were opposed to the showing of these flags, but only out of embarrassment. The Democrats still rely on donors, opinion-makers, and lobbyists from AIPAC and the pro-Israel community. The pro-Palestine crowd remains unpopular among those that make the connection between the current wave of Islamic terror throughout the world, and the jihadist Palestinian groups Hamas and . . . here it comes. . . Islamic Jihad. However, the Democrats themselves have been courting the growing Muslim community in the USA and were blatantly tooting the Islamophobia horn at every turn during the DNC. Democratic support for Israel is superficial, their support for the Palestinian people is also to a large extent transparently opportunistic, but the support of Drs. Zogby and West is NOT superficial, they are committed anti-Israel and pro-Palestine activists. Of that there is no need for opinion. Their whole involvement with the Sanders campaign was a source of ridicule by the Clinton campaign, yet once he had conceded their continued presence only served to embarrass the party as a whole.

This is a parallel to the BLM involvement in the race: Until now they were useful in whipping up enthusiasm against an alleged white supremacist system. That usefulness wore itself out once BLM turned on them and said: The Democrats are part of that racist system.

Nobody's fools -- except their own

The BLM activists had the same realization with regards to the Party. The Democratic political machine has run its course as far as the young black vote is concerned, and the problem started when they gave black youth too much of the wrong thing. Through lax educational standards, affirmative action, and puffy counterculture classes the Democrats (and along with them other far left activists that by themselves would have no impact) have created the perfect greenhouse for militant student confrontations. With no community is that more evident than the black community. The very adoption of the term African- or Afro-American is an academic fantasy, because Africa is a continent. There is no Asian American or South American community, if anything they are identified by their country of origin (Filipino) or native language (Hispanic).
Hawk Newsome of New York's BLM chapter is
fully willing to have his supporters throw the 2016
election cycle thrown for Donald Trump in order to
reject the mainstream Democratic cause.
The misfortune of the Democrats has been that there has been a rash of police-youth violence, especially in urban areas like New York, Chicago, and St. Louis in cities where they themselves have been in power for decades. A new generation has rejected the pitch of the Democratic establishment and is now ready to have its own voice; not a Republican or a Democratic one but a unique one. Hawk Newsome, a New York BLM activist has threatened to throw the race for Donald Trump.
Does BLM have the capability to be a real electoral power broker?
DeRay McKesson is one of the national figures of BLM,
but he failed in the Baltimore mayoral primary, finishing 6th.
Will he be disappearing or getting stronger during this election? Baltimore Sun
So far they've been a complete and utter failure, but could that be due to DNC and establishment interference? BLM ran a candidate in this year's Baltimore mayoral primary, one of its national figures DeRay McKesson. Unfortunately for them he was a colossal flop, garnering only 3% of the vote. In order to actually make a dent in the system BLM will have to confront what one of their most bitter opponents, the Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, has called the Black Political Machine. Simply put, BLM, the worst race hustlers working in the USA today will have to pit themselves against the Jesse Jacksons, Al Sharptons, and yes even Cornel Wests that were the race hustlers who failed the generations from the 1960s until today. That's much more difficult than it sounds, and the result will define whether BLM activists are able to mature into people who actually change things instead of lamenting the status quo.
