THE DARK STRATEGY OF TRUMP FOR THOSE THAT DON'T UNDERSTAND

Even if you dislike Donald Trump's policies, maybe it
would do some good to acknowledge that perhaps the
reason he's smirking is because he's a couple steps ahead
in his plan (Velocify).

Those of you that think that this defeat on the ridiculous Trumpcare/Ryancare bill is a loss for Donald Trump should think again. Everything that's happening on the surface is superficial nonsense. Note these facts:

  • By trotting Paul Ryan out to support the bill and become even more wrapped in the stakes of its success, Trump has succeeded in having the failure attributed to the House Speaker among both his conservative supporters and the libertarians of the bill. Those smart enough to know the difference should still attribute the blame to Trump as much as Ryan, but strategically it was a bold move. I am coming to believe that his days are numbered as speaker. Trump's stunt of telling viewers to watch Jeanine Pirro the day she called for Ryan's resignation shows he clearly is done with the GOP establishment leader.
  • Trump may be angry at the Freedom Caucus, but it's empty rhetoric. The leader of that faction, Rand Paul, is not up for reelection until 2022. The House faction, led by Mark Meadows and Justice Amash, are mostly from solidly red districts, and in order to unseat Ryan he needs their support. It was after all them that also dumped John Boehner in 2014.
  • Democrats should not be celebrating. Trump's use of an EO to cancel enforcement of the IRS penalty for not holding an insurance policy takes the teeth out of Obamacare. It wouldn't have mattered anyhow, because the bones have been getting broken. Anthem, Humana, and the other major insurance providers have all pulled out from the exchange and there will be many areas and even whole STATES that will not have any ACA coverage plans available next year.
  • The Democrats all say the ACA should be "improved" yet the unspoken truth (except among those that are honest like Jordan Chariton) is that the Dem base is in favour of single payer healthcare. This is a policy position that the party itself will not and cannot (due to its demented commitments) support. The result will be that as angry as some citizens will be at the GOP, the majority of the public will still hate the Democrats for their lack of initiative and ideas.

Those that think I'm overestimating Trump's strategy should remember how he's hoodwinked GOP and Democrat opponents since the beginning of the 2016 race. This is classic Trump strategy, and as much as I oppose several of his idiotic policies like the AHCA, I will never, but NEVER, discount his strategic thinking which is something I don't know if I've ever seen.
